Let's do some equipment test....
A few months ago, we announced the release at Pinnacle of a newcomer in their range of analog capture USB products. In fact this newcomer is the Pinnacle branded declination of a package already present under the Dazzle brand.
Indeed, Pinnacle VHS Saver is made of well known hardware element, the DVC 100 and a software component not less known, Instant DVD Recorder ...
Let's open the box and see what it contains :

Besides the traditional booklets relatives to Customer Support and Warranty, there is an Installation guide and the Instant DVD Recorder CD with its serial number pasted on its cover.
What takes the most space is the DVC 100 device placed on a protection foam. Good surprise : the length of USB cable that is 1m80 ! You should have no problem to connect onto an analog device although it is far from the PC.
That is what the beast looks like a little closer :

A nice box, painted black with the Dazzle logo and brand on top.
The connection possibilities are very simple:
- in input, a black 4-pin mini-DIN S-Video type plug
- in input, a yellow cinch plug for video composite
- in input, a white cinch plug for left audio channel
- in input, a red cinch plug for left audio channel
- in output, a USB type A plug to connect to the PC
With the duo DVC 100 and Instant DVD Recorder you can easily digitize all types of analog video to DVD format. Either by direct burning to a DVD or recording the structure of this DVD in a VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive. All complemented with navigation menu if you wish.
