Thanks to one of our most loyal readers who sent us this info he found on Pinnacle website and Apple store, we are happy to introduce AVID Studio on.... iPad !

Indeed, what a big surprise to discover that Avid and Pinnacle has launched an iPad application called AVID Studio. It's available on the US Apple Store as well as french Apple Store (and probably worldwide - do not hesitate to confirm in the comments if you have information) ... This is a great news, we did not expect AVID to launch such a product, but for sure it fills a lack in this area. I will not deny that myself, very enthousiastic with Apple iPad, I was looking for an applications to create video using my iPad !!... I was about to buy iMovie for iPad, just imagine !!

This is rather new, so we had no time to test it for you, but no doubt we will inform you in a few days following an extensive testing, since you know I love this kind of iPad technology, which is - in addition - associated to Avid Studio!

As far as we know :

• it works "like" his big brother Avid Studio - but beware, some limitations apply, there is only one video track if I'm not mistaken ... But, there are montage theme if I correctly understood ! Let's see
• use transitions and high-quality effects (I do not know if they are the same that the one we already know, probably ... More news in a few days, hopefully this weekend I will have have done some tests)
• exports to YouTube, FaceBook (sorry, but I am not that good with FaceBook, I will need some help on this one!)
• possibility to capture pictures & movies directly within the application (to be checked)
• trimming frame by frame and sound editing <>effects and PIP (picture in picture)
• of course, the advanced capabilities of the iPad by pinching the screen to zoom in on the timeline or double click to bring up the whole timeline

Note: the ability to export to your computer to continue with AVID Studio PC ! To be checked as well ...

So what should we conclude from this? Avid Studio has not yet seen a patch because the whole team worked hard to get us out a great iPad application ? Will we get the long awaited patch Avid Studio in a few weeks now? Or do you think that a similar application will be launched for other tablets ? What is your opinion ?
