A few days ago, we announced the arrival of Avid Studio for iPad. Now, it's time to give you my first impressions after discovering the application this weekend ... I promiseto tell you everything !

If you encounter an "Export Failure" when rendering your movie, you probably won't understand the content of the message shown by Studio. In the absence of this help from Studio, follow this tutorial created by an experienced user. You will find:

Files with the extension .3GP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) are compressed video for third-generation mobile phone (3G). Today, with new versions of Studio you can import and export video files .3 GP. But this has not always been the case and DGrenier had proposed a tutorial, taken in part below, to accomplish this with the studio versions below Studio 12 who could not import these file types. As we still have many readers that use versions prior to Studio 12, we offer an retrospective overview of treatment of these files.

Some softwares allow preview of video corrections with a DUAL  effect or SPLIT SCREEN: with and without correction. With Studio it is not expected and we must "cheat" ! Dont' worry this trick is not very long to implement, but its result is good enough to make adjustments in good conditions.

When you hear this word, Ripples, generally speaking you think about ripples in the water. But since the introduction of Studio this word is also known in video editing. The ‘rippling’ function is designed to place the same identical transition between a number of continuous clips or photographs on the time-line.

Specific plugins are applied to a clip. Now, you would like the same plugins with the same settings on multiple clips (contiguous or not). How to proceed? This tip & trick will give you the solution.

To give the impression of falling rain, I suggest two methods each of which have their advantages and disadvantages. The first will be based on the use of an HFX effect made just for this occasion. The second will be based on the use of an AVI file with the use of transparency.

To achieve this effect, I decided to use the Hollywood FX software included with Pinnacle Studio. I decided to use two effects (#244): Snow 5s, and Snow 10s, which will be used as plugins or filters. This tutorial will teach you how to use these two effects.

Many users reported ‘double entries’ issues in the Pinnacle Studio "Make Movie" tab. In this case, each 2nd entry (the double) must not be used otherwise you might crash Studio. This Tips & Tricks allows you to get rid of these double entries.

What to do when everything goes wrong and we no longer know what to do ... In a scenario like this, in many cases, we may have to rely on the knowledge and good will of the mebers of a video forum. We must do some tests to determine the causes of the problems! Preferred Studio's music format is .WAV so it is strongly advised to convert your music CD's to WAV files (CD Rip) instead using directly the Studio CD Import function. This can be achieved with the famous CDEx. Transparency allows you to create special effects (PIP like). It can be achieved by using the color tool (Chroma Key), which is documented in Studio.  It can also be achieved by using an image stored in a format that retains some parts of the image as transparent. It is this process that I refer to in the following example.
