One of the picture starts to animate and a video appears in place of it. This Tutorial will drive you step by step to succeed in doing this special effect. It's a perfect start for a holyday’s movie for example. Have a look at the result : Step 1 - Extract a picture from a video
- Insert a video on the Time Line and make sure you stay on the first picture of this video;
- Go in the Tools box and choose "Extract picture from a video";
- A picture appears as shown here. Press the button “Add to movie”. The Picture is automatically placed on the Time Line before your clip.
Step 2 - Insert the HFX Effects
- On the first clip (the fixed picture), apply the "HFX Filter” plugin by clicking on the small plugin icon.
- You will find the "HFX filter" under the Studio RTFX category;
- Double click on button below to edit the effect.

- Easy FX Editor will open. Look for "00 - Declic Video" to show the list of effects. Double click on the effect called "324-livre1";
- This operation replaces the default HFX effect by the one you have chosen. Quit Easy FX Editor by using the « ok » button below.
- You are back in studio and your fixed picture looks like the "324-livre1" effect;
- Repeat this step for your clip. The Choosen effect in "00 - Declic Video" will be "324-livre2";
- Extend the length of the first clip (the fixed image), so the clip fully covers the duration of 8 seconds. You cannot stretch the second clip as the fixed image does, because a video isn’t adjustable. Don’t worry. May be you have to split it in two parts. Caution, the clip must cover a duration range of 5 to 6 seconds.
