Today, I do not have a real tutorial, but rather a compendium of tips that revolve around television. Most of these tips, a collaborative effort of various participants at the time (DGrenier, ggfx, Kiki), were already present on the former site of Declic-Video.

The traditional zapping.

You can download the file Zapping.avi included in the file "TVEffets.zip" available in the « Associated Link(s) » section below and use it, for example, in the following manner:

The principle is simple, Zapping.avi is to be inserted in the timeline between sequences of equal lengths to duplicate the well-known zapping. For technical reasons, this file has a duration of 6 frames, but you will have a better recording by reducing it to 3 frames.

The snow effect linked to a bad connection to the antenna.

The best method, in my opinion, is to use the JPs Effects - Misc -> TV Interference (with the ability to set the intensity of blocks and their size). Let me remind you here that the JPs Effects are free. The useful information for download are shown here.

You can download the file TelevisionHS.avi included in the file "TVEffets.zip" available in the « Associated Link(s) » section below and use it, for example, in the following manner:

The principle is simple, the Television.avi file is to be included on the time line in a sequence that you previously split. According to the desired effect, you can simulate a sudden crash with one insertion at the end of the sequence, or a gradual drop as I have tried to do above.

Finally, if you include one of the videos that you created from the above info in a television such as that presented in the tutorial "Tip-5 Using transition #201", the effect will be guaranteed ...

Easier yet, as suggested at the time by Poupi41, you can disconnect the antenna on your TV and you save the movie on your VCR ...
