Most of these tips, a collaborative effort of various participants at the time (DGrenier, ggfx, Kiki), were already present on the former site of Declic-Video. Let's see all 3 effects: - The traditional zapping of a famous french television channel (ending with a "+")...
- The snow effect linked to a bad connection from the antenna or poor reception.
- TV blackout or looking for a channel.
The traditional zapping.
You can download the file Zapping.avi included in the file "TVEffets.zip" available in the « Associated Link(s) » section below and use it, for example, in the following manner:
| The principle is simple, Zapping.avi is to be inserted in the timeline between sequences of equal lengths to duplicate the well-known zapping. For technical reasons, this file has a duration of 6 frames, but you will have a better recording by reducing it to 3 frames. |

The snow effect linked to a bad connection to the antenna.
The best method, in my opinion, is to use the JPs Effects - Misc -> TV Interference (with the ability to set the intensity of blocks and their size). Let me remind you here that the JPs Effects are free. The useful information for download are shown here.
| Here is an example of parameters that you can use ... |

TV blackout or looking for a channel.
You can download the file TelevisionHS.avi included in the file "TVEffets.zip" available in the « Associated Link(s) » section below and use it, for example, in the following manner:
| The principle is simple, the Television.avi file is to be included on the time line in a sequence that you previously split. According to the desired effect, you can simulate a sudden crash with one insertion at the end of the sequence, or a gradual drop as I have tried to do above. |
 |
Finally, if you include one of the videos that you created from the above info in a television such as that presented in the tutorial "Tip-5 Using transition #201", the effect will be guaranteed ...
Easier yet, as suggested at the time by Poupi41, you can disconnect the antenna on your TV and you save the movie on your VCR ... {Thanks to Loosecannon for the fine tuning} |

Hello Thomas,
It's always very easy to criticize and find fault to other people job... But that's far much more difficult to realize a tutorial to explain other people how to do. If you have the courage one day to build your own website to give tutorial for free, we will re-discuss the topic... Anyway, I draw your attention on the fact that this website is devoted to present tutorials with software far from professionnal After Effects or any other similar software. The price is not the same neither (if you were kind enough to buy your own version)... Nevertheless, you post a comment on our website, which is very encouraging for us. Usually, people who think that our tutorials are 'outdated, pathetic, ...' do not even loose time to post a comment !
Have a nice day, Declic Video FX |

Hi Declic, There's a proverb saying: "The best quartermasters standing always on the quay" Or simply: The ones who never do something will explain it to the ones who do something. To use a simple term: "That's Life" Kind regards, Etienne
Don't let encourage your work by this "accident", there will always be people who will post some negative and destructing comments, we can't liberate te world from fools. |

Hello Art, In S9 the transitions where HFX 5.0 - 5.5 The Declic transitions where all based on this HFx's, however you did need to have purchased the Hollywood pro or mega to wiew them all. S12 does not work with this types of HFX, it's working with HFX vol 1 - vol 3 In princyp you need to wiew all Declic HFX if you viewed them before in S9 Maybe you need to read the fixes in the Declic website (downloads), or wait for the reaction of other people from Declic Rgds, Etienne |
